well you would still need to be prepared to stop yourself from downloading just for the sake of it. it helps nobody.

What i have done is................1) self boot at 2:00 AM (enabled "wake up on S5" in bios).2) made a circuit so that only when the PC is in ON state , the modem gets the power supply.(i.e the modem gets power supply only when the modem switch is in ON state and also the PC is in ON state.)3) before I sleep i will power OFF all, except for CPU & modem.4) using "timeleft" software to start utorrent @ 2:05 AM and to shut down the PC at 8:00 AMtotally automatic ..............

High speed broadband is the only way out I believeYou will run your machines 20x6 which risks your PC components plus electricity billBe wise and invest in a fast broadband connection

the best solution is to get a faster broadband connection so that you do not need to keep the computer on for longer durations.

Even with a faster connection you will still have to keep the pc on to seed the files you download on private trackers.

if torrents are so important to you... i would suggest investing in a router that comes loaded with its own bittorrent client. so you can shut down your machine and let the router does the processing.

Those routers cant even run more than 1-2 torrents simultaneously , i use a headless pc with a via c3 1ghz processor running xp pro for downloading/seeding, connect to it using the xp pro remote desktop connection, consumes 30 watts.

Did u buy this from the same website? Is this by any chance available in India?

It was not available in india atleast during the period when i ordered it from dealextreme.

Only has 32 mb RAM , how many torrents can it run simultaneously? does it work with private trackers and can you update the client to latest version?

I have a cheap 2 GB flash drive attached for the swap file... and have loaded snake OS ie customised firmware..its pretty stable..have tried max 4 torrents till now..performance was good..and LAN transfer rates are about 4 MB/s or 32 Mbps more than adequate streaming speed for the files that i have.
