to be fair, they have been pro-gay rights for a while now. but have avoided pushing it politically to not alienate their vote bank. i think the statement made was... the time is not right to challenge Section 377. it is pretty much like the situation in usa. you might be an atheist but you have to pretend to be a god loving christian to win elections.
