I will soon be moving to Hyderabad and excitel has good presence there. I avoided excitel when I was in bangalore due to mixed reviews on this forum.
I will be working from home few days a week, mostly taking zoom calls and I would play valorant/CS2 sometimes. Will also be steaming content on TV and mobile.
The purpose of creating a new thread is simple, I want to know if excitel is decent in hyderabad. I know it may vary from area to area but I want to know if it is worth saving the money by choosing excitel over ACT? I will be staying in the surrounding areas of Hi-Tech City, gachibowli.
The obvious choice would be to go for ACT if they give FTTH connections now like they do in bangalore but since excitel is kinda cheap, I want to know what compromises I am gonna make by saving a few bucks every month?
My experience with Airtel has been sore multiple times in the past so I'd avoid them at all costs. TPF is not present in hyderabad as of now.

Excitel's reliability in Hyderabad has been poor in my experience. I've encountered frequent disconnections and consistently high ping. While I've raised numerous complaints, the technical support seems ill-equipped to address issues related to ping, round-trip time, and packet loss. Their standard response is limited to router restarts and connection resets. When escalated, they promise a callback from a backend team within an hour, a promise that has consistently gone unfulfilled for the past one to two months. Consequently, I only recommend Excitel as a secondary internet connection, given its unpredictable service.

well it depends on the local operator. I used excitel in hyderabad manikonda and hitech city area and there were no frequent disconnections at all. if there was a disconnection , internet will resume in 5 minutes or so.

Though excitel is having 7 days pppoe reset, internet will go down for 30 seconds and then back up with new IP address.

for me the experience was way better than airtel and jio in terms of ping, stability and service.

you can try their3 month package and check if it is good for you or not. ACT does not provide fiber to home, its just till FAT boxes in the area in hyd.

If you are living in gated community then downtime chances are less. So here is the list from good to bad:

1. Excitel
2. jio
3. airtel
4. act

i did not used ACT as they were providing ethernet cat 6 cable from DB box. I don't like this implementation as it is prone to high latency drop speeds issue.

if only they provided fiber to home then i would have definitely taken it as they are also good in terms of stability and speed

Also ACT is costly as compared to excitel.. Excitel is dirt cheap and provide excellent speeds throughout day night. This is my experience and for me excitel was the best among all the ISPs.

@87056 Im living in hyderabad so i can give information better to you
So as im using 400 mbps plan in excitel i would say its pretty solid and its the best among all
But when it comes to gaming its an absolute nightmare Fr.
ping to 8.8.8.8 will be 14 ms some times and it would drop up tp 30 ms
but we dont know when this will happen its all because of their routing issues in excitel so When compared with act its stays stable all the time
And ping to 1.1.1.1 in ACT will be literally 1ms I
If youre an user who doesnt play games alot and only needed the internet for browsing surfing streaming downloading excitel is the best even for wfh also its the best But the sad thing is they provide Routers which doesnt have stability
IF they provide 1G onu it would be awesome for a gamers like me so that i can change DNS and all to get a Better internet stability
Their Routers are all locked with firmware we cant even change to bridge mode its completely locked to their router But i found a best solution to use our router instead of their for better Wi-Fi and stability If you need it i can tell you

I live in Delhi and Excitel is decent here when you compare price to speed with Airtel. But their routers are mediocre & completely locked. It runs hot, reboots on heavy downloading & range is also quite poor.
Although their on ground service has improved quite a lot.
After wasting a lot of time to put Excitel's Richerlink router in Bridge Mode now I am using a different router in Access Point/Repeater mode and have disabled wifi on Excitel's Richerlink router.
Is there any other way to use excitel other than their ONU-1G which they don't give anymore ?
