Its always between 10-12 KB/s and never less than 8 ..

James, Thanks for your speed test link. [Downloaded it, but did not use it as there was an installation involved]. Sorry about that.
I actually tested my connection speed online with these sites over different periods of time.

Interestingly, I usually got a download speed of the range 70kbps to 96 kbps,
Now we all know the conversion of kbps [kilo bits per second] to kB/s [KiloBytes per second] which is to divide this speed value by (x/8)/1.024 [for the bits to byte and 1000 over 1024 for the 2^10 factor]
So, while my 64kbps connection should give me
(64/8)/1.024 = 7.8125
what I am getting is around
(96/8)/1.024 = 11.71875
Now this is very confusing. Are sify guys giving us more than what we bargain.
Not in a million years yaar!! After all its Sify!! [yaar = friend in Hindi]

Back to my connection, I have up until 7th sept while my 64kbps connection gets over, and I am looking at these results for my download needs

64 7.8125
96 11.71875
128 15.625
256 31.25

Trying for a 256kbps connection

IF u go for sify 64 kbps unlimited u will get avrage speed of 8 kbps n max of 10 kbps in case ........
Also there is limit of 150 mb/day (day time starts from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm) n no such limit for remaining night time.. SO better if u can go for exattnet . but give me some more details about it. hope dis will help u.
