Well ! What do we have here ? Is there enough here to make the presumption that their client works only on Redhat ? Certainly not, & that too after I stated that I have it working on Fedora core 3 !

Dont quite see the point you were making regarding the other distros

u are the only person around here with the client that works on linux. by the way, fell free to drop around here to help with mine coz my CTO has no clue.

cool. my mandrake is having issues then i think. hmm time to buy a dvd drive to get that novell suse 9.1 pro on top of mandrake and retry internet on linux again.

Alternative client for Linux ? Frankly, I cant see anything wrong with their current Linux client ! What does this alternative client do ?

I've seen a link on http://www.linux-delhi.org/ but the link to the prog as well as the author's emails were outdated... :(

Anyway : what's wrong with the linux client ?
- you have to use it as root
- it's closes source - not really the linux spirit, IMHO
- and it works only on a few distros - and not the one I want to use [www.fli4l.de]

Just to point it out Fedora Core 3 is the latest open and free successor to the Red Hat line of distributions that went commercial. So the Sify client ought to work super with FC3 :P

But actually it doesn't mostly matter which linux distribution an application is compiled on, as long as the result is Linux compatible binary. That is it ought to work on all the distributions and its instability is probably due to poor programming.
