Sites not opening Randomly on MTNL TriBand

yes i use bridged mode too.. rebooting router does same(d/c and r/c) if in pppoe mode.

something weird right now.

i cant access Google but it has many IPs.

like
72.14.235.104
72.14.235.99
72.14.235.147

now i am able to ping 104 and other 2 are not pinging.

so its strange. all are in same network/subnet but MTNL routing doe not seem to be working based on subnet.

what i did is redirect all traffic for 72.14.235.0/24 to 72.14.235.104 and it started working

dont know in windows but in linux u need to run one iptables cmdiptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -d -j DNAT --to EG: = 72.14.235.0/24 = 72.14.235.104

Good sleuthing, this corroborates my earlier hypothesis that it was a routing problem upstream and not a DNS problem or a problem with our resp. modem/routers.

In my case, traceroutes from an affected "destination" IP to my WAN IP and vice versa indicated that packets were being dropped somewhere between MTNL and VSNL.

Pls. send the snippets of your sleuthing to the MTNL folks if you are sending them emails.

yes even i feel that its prob betn MTNL and VSNL. but then how did 1 IP worked and 2 didnt for same subnet?i also have feeling that VSNL may be doing this on purpose!! to kill competition from MTNL. they randomly block random sites so that they are not caught.btw problem started again..yahoo mail (us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com) not workingtataindicom.in not workingalso different sites for different users stop working.so its like for 1 user yahoo is working and for other its not.so vsnl can say, look its working for 1 user, not our problem!!

PROBLEM HAS STARTED AGAIN

usin capital letters for my rant

its surprising that this happens mostly during 11:00 to 23:00

all sites worked fine till morning including MTNL's very own register.mtnl.net.in

now wen i came to chk hotmail n yahoo , both not opening

for me mail.google.com not opening72.14.205.17, 72.14.205.19, 72.14.205.83are not working but72.14.205.18 is working, so i redirected and it worked.
