I recently got my evdo connection... Was really happy to see that i could connect to the internet after a months running around....But im facing some issues...I can barely browse through sites....Speedtest.net server doesnt even ping most times...so i use a speed test on the intel website and it shows me speeds of 30 to 200 kbps.....But http downloads are pretty decent...i get download speeds of around 30 to 100 kBps for such downloads....I dunno whatto do now...Talking to BSNL guys did not help...I have panda 08 running wth spybot..no virus or spyware... Get 2-3 bars EVDO connection.....Anyone else facing similar problems??? Any suggestions:confused:

don't worry dude...the bsnl server is down since friday and will come to normal soon (i guess and pray :wall:)....right now i am also getting some less speed compared to my usual speed...but there is a difference in our speed since i have full signal at my place .. So just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................ wait.

Are the servers ok and things back in shape ? I dont have broadband issue, but some other services for the last 1 week.

@ pmadhan....nope....still dont see any light at the end of the tunnel...@ rageaddict....this is the first time im using evdo/gprs...so i dont know if this issue is common for this technology...spoke to a friend of mine whoz a ccie...he told me tat it could be a server level decision at bsnl to give least priority to such data packets...i also face the same issuce with my bsnl broadband 500 combo connection...i can barely browse during the night unlimited hours (2 AM to 8 AM) but downloads clock 1- 1.5 MBPS easily...after 8, the the browsing speed goes back to normal...any help or suggestions are more than welcome cuz im just wasting my evdo connection now:wall:

i've used gprs/edge for a long time and understood it quite a bit. i think you'll have to live with it. the problem with gprs is that whenever i click links, it takes time for my mobile to send request to the tower and establish a connection. even after establishing the connection i receive the pages in 56kbps speeds rather than 256kbps. but when i download files from an internet download manager, then it gives me speeds of 25KB/s which is about 200kbps. that's because my download manager can split the download into several files but the browser cannot. that's my theory.
