Sony Bravia (RIP)

Burn In is still an issue.... And ghosting is still reality even on small size due to refresh rates that's why this is more important now to look how much mhz motionflow the tv reproduces........ Ranging from 100 to 400 mhz These days...... And plasmas have no issues of refresh rates... It's gas based technology. That's why produces quite a lot heat... That's why need ventilation I think.

samsung PS51D550.....if you can buy a better 51 incher with 3d based on any technology under 80k, give me a call . LED with same PQ will cost you atleast 1.5 L but people just hear LED and run like morons . and if you're not buying cheap plasmas , you electricity will not be that high as you mentioned compared to an LED . all the facts that you've mentioned are only true for old plasmas . only edge lit LEDs are as cheap as plasmas and hence don't give the same PQ as plasmas in bigger sizes . and if you want "full-array with local dimming" LEDs , be prepared as they will cost you a bomb . atleast research on google , i was going to buy an LED but i researched before buying and went with plasma (best decision of my life second only to my decision to not buy an IPAD when i had the money ). LED is just used as a good marketing tool to get most fools into it (my friends were furious with me when they came to know that i bought a plasma against their advice). LED technology will still take another year to provide as good black levels as plasmas without costing a bomb.

BBC's life is the best thing i've ever seen in 1080p . other than that i suggest HBO's "the pacific" , "alien anthology movie set " and HBO's "game of thrones" in 1080p . you can only get "alien anthology" and BBC's "life" in india on blue-ray( both are on ebay.in ) . Unfortunately some of the best blue-rays have not been released in india . 720p will not look as great on your tv as 1080p but will save you a lot of bandwidth .just to give you an idea , "the pacific" is 50 gb nearly even though it only has 10 parts of 52 minutes each .

'Life' is good but "Planet Earth' is better.
'The Pacific' is good but 'Band of Brothers' is better.

As for 720p Vs. 1080p, I haven't personally compared between the two. But I've read reviews which suggested that on TV screens that are less than 55", it seems the difference is negligible. Even that is only when you watch the TV sitting at a distance less than 1.5 times the screen size.

Can you guys tell me difference between 720i or 720 or 1080i or 1080...Whats the difference between "i" and without "i" with respect to resolution context...

There is nothing without i. Either it will be " i " or " p " where " i " refers to interlaced and " p " refers to progressive . I had mentioned small difference between the both above 4 posts along with the diagrams. hope that would help you. And for detailing, wiki had highly elaborated both of them .

Thanks for the information

@ MonsterBallsofDoom

U r acting like another person in the thread where the person was hell-bent just to prove Plasma was good.

U dont need 51 inchers if u go for LEDs or LCDs. Coz in these TVs, u get Full HD, in 32" & 40" models too. And believe me, a 40" LED still costs u less than that 80k u spent for 51" Plasma.
Next, u boast of 3D in that Plasma.......3D is totally irrelevant in today's situation. Ok, u got 3D. Now??

What 3D content do u have to see on it?
Even if u have, do u have glasses for each & every individual at ur home?
Still further, lets assume u either have the goggs, or u will buy them for each individual.......how many hours can u spend watching 3D?

Since u have bought it, u will not believe. thats why i first asked u - "Did u buy any TV recently?" U have gone against the advices of others around u, just to show that u know more. Now in such a situation, its useless to argue more, coz u will never agree to the drawbacks that are listed. U will find all sorts of excuses that the drawbacks are old or whatever. But the fact remains.

Try connecting a PC to ur Plasma, and edit a document/spreadsheet. Its image burn-in problem will give u a headache. But still, u wont accept it!!

@ ajuravi.....

Do u mean u dont have that 3.5 mm point where u can connect the Headphones? If that is missing, then i am afraid, u will have to live without Headphones with this TV. When i got my TV, it also came without that Point. So i am living without it. But i am surprised that today's TV also came without the point!
Check out the manual given to u, it shud be there somewhere.

I have searched in the TV....3.5mm point its not there...Any ways let me check in the manual too in the evening...1 more query - when we are using a USB stick in laptops after using we used to click on some tray to eject the USB and then it states that it safe to remove the usb stick....if i am connecting the usb to my TV whats the procedure should i adopt in removing the usb stick...can i remove it directly ?

I think there is an option to "Disconnect" or "Eject" or something for a USB. I have it in my TV. And i had even seen in my uncle's TV. So it shud be there in ur TV menu.......
