Samsung has better support and yes the bloatware can be removed very easily thru rooting and installing Custom ROM if reqd.I guess pricing is important
why? why does everyone just assume that samsung is the safest bet when going for an android device? a lot of people on the forum have suffered with samsung's high end android devices. Sony is making a good comeback and is open source friendly and deserves a chance.
looking at the feature bloat on s3 and note2, i am not sure i even want to see what they are going to load on s4 and n3. :\
That's right and i agree on that one but in the past i had very bad experience with sony so i am just going to stay away from them and wait and hope for nexus phones and tablets to release in india but when nexus phones aren't released in india then i have samsung as the only choice and i hope that codeworkx keeps supporting saamsung phone and samsung releases the proper source for Exynos devices
so here is my thoughts about the two companies... samsung:two flagship models which makes it a safer buy. you buy a s3 you know it is going to remain the primary offering for a year. same with n2. faster upgrades to newer android builds based on recent past. massive support in the mod community. though some users are reporting that they are hampering the growth by restricting release of data related to newer chips? crappier designs and build quality. too much software bloat. too many apps that takes on google's own apps. sort of a work in progress that could result in samsung porting android into their own version. prefers to power their devices with their own SoCs and display technologies which can be a good thing but not alwayssony: keeps on launching new products with no definitive flagship model. xperia z might no longer be the hippest phone from them in 3-4 months from now. better design and build quality. not so good support on mod community though things are improving as they are releasing more and more into the open source community. software is good. but upgrade to newer android builds is slow. devices launched in the last year are the only ones that are likely to get the latest android build in the future and so on. use third party hardware with self developed software improvements. which means you get access to tegra technology and better display quality.

Actually Sony uses qualcomm chipsets which are usually less powerful then Exynos chipsets in samsung and super amoled displays are also better which are used in samsung
But the best bet would be nexus phone because of updates, pure google, no bloatware, supported for 3 years, etc
i have used Galaxy nexus and one x. one x used slcd, galaxy nexus has samoled. personally i prefer slcd because text is crisper. it is more of a personal choice. i just prefered the display on one x compared to galaxy nexus. as for chipsets are considered. i suppose there are benefits in going for tegra chips as you get access to tegra supported games? i am not sure. not a gamer but i have heard that those games are not supported(?) on non-tegra devices?as for nexus... they are mostly compromise devices when it comes to hardware. and as we all know n4 is yet to go on sale in the indian market. so there is no warranty. software support from google is good. but it is all irrelevant if you are going to run custom ROMs on it anyways. i personally stick with nexus devices. my experience with one x was ruined because of sense.

The games available on TegraZone are optimized for Tegra SoCs and we can really see the difference. Those games are available for other phones too.
BTW. I am hearing reports that Sony is close to launching a new model to take on HTC One and SamsungGalaxy S IV. I am not sure why Xperia Z is not exactly that already.
