Back in USA, Telugu movies have equal almost demand as hindi movies, have seen telugu movies in small places such as Omaha.The south Indian film industry caters to local cinema for their respective states, do a good job of it. Especially the comedy is way better than what is available in hindi cinema.The drawback is that telugu movies started the trend of importing actresses (models) from north. Now a days you hardly find any female lead who is telugu speaking

Yeah ..lot of people say even though tollywood releases many movies every year , hardly one or two gets national recognition the latest being Eega (makkhi iin hindi)Well here, movies are somewhat way of life ..people pay movies to see their heros in larger than life roles. Ofcourse movies with good story would do well in multiplexes but they would flop in majority of single screen theatres. SO many producers invest in big heros films rather than small new comers. Also any fair looking girl willing to expose herself to maximum permitted limits will easily get roles in telugu industry even if she doesn't know the language. Even Illeana has exposed in many telugu movies and we were somewhat surprised seeing her act superbly in Barfi.
