Speed drops while viewing Youtube

Speed plunges to nearly to < 200 Kbps while watching youtube.. I am on 512kbos UL 750 plan , and tried both on FF 4 RC and chrome 10 any suggestions ? - Personally IBF is becoming annoying everyday .. i typed a full post and it showed only first 3 words .. had to re-edit this post again ...

Not sure how good it is, try Speedbit video accelerator and check. Me too on same plan. Working fine for me. Try the speed using a proxy and check. How do you know speed went to < 200 Kbps ?

Speedbitvideo acc. is useless, actually what it does is, not buffer the video simultaneously, but buffers 10sec at once, then allow to play, sooo, its the same thing, moreover. evry product of speedbit is trash.
Use idm. it's Awesome!!!

Me too no fan of the app. No harm in trying. IDM has YouTube acceleration ?

So, I'm on Reliance wire-line broadband @ 1 Mbps.

I can't stream a single 360p video from YouTube.

While downloading videos from YouTube using IDM, I get full 1 Mbps speed as IDM makes 8 connections to YouTube cache. But, while streaming only 1 connection is made - which gives me barely 20-25 KBps. I'm able to stream 240p videos but 360p? Naa...

You can't expect 360p videos to stream/play smoothly on a 512 Kbps connection. You need at least a 1 Mbps connection.

vdo cant be accelerated by any external software, the browser's java scripts have to do that. And, at the moment, Chrome RULES!! as far as Youtube streaming is concerned. IDM can capture any flash object, vdo, audio. it's justt Amazing.
And while downloading, gives a speed of apprx 65kbps on my 750UL plan evrytime, while if u download normally, u wud only get 55kbps. THumbs up to idm.

no the issue is , 360p video used to play just fine .. a little buffering now and then , but on full speed , it used to stream good , but off lately only i am having problems... thats why i asked

use some other browser, or update to chrome latest beta version. 11.96 i think.
