I used to get about 230-240 kbps on my Home 500 plan and faced a lot of disconnections every 20-30 min as the SNR was very low (see previous stats).

After I complained about the low SNR to DE broadband, Telephone Bhavan, Kolkata, a BSNL official called from there and changed the connection standard from Bis to BisPlus (he told me that he has changed the connection profile to ADSL2+) and there was a significant rise in the SNR margin.

But during the night Unlimited period yesterday, the max speed I got was only 150 kbps when using utorrent (all pvt. trackers) and 180 kbps while dl-ing from my link-removed prem acc.

I also tested with my Netgear DMP111PUSP modem instead of the Nokia C2110 modem with a new splitter but it was the same scenario:(.

Can anyone explain why?
Thanks.
