i am easily able to max my connection on a public torrent. you just need to have a well seeded torrent and it is enough for our broadband lines here in india.

True!

No wonder, I usually I jump on to public torrents when they're fresh and upload is completed before download :P

I got 3.5MBps on network which doesn't even support it and without having a network tower in the area so ya its weird !

Private torrents don't usually count because a lot ofpeople have seedboxes so its as good as downloading from multiple servers (with 1gbps lines) at once.

But why wouldn't they count ? I mean if you're downloading from multiple servers all at once, you will end up maxing out your connection.

Still then there will be some lagging, you can perform multiple tests of former and latter and you will get the conclusion.

My point was that if you want to test the assertion whether torrents can/would max out your connection, private trackers aren't suited for that since they'd have a lot of servers as seeds.
