the essence of life is not doing something to win only...........the essence is to be positive always , do participate in everything you think is good for ur growth,doesnt matter if u win or lose , but just try ur best with best intentions and hard work and in the process do enjoy yourself ............in that ways u will learn something ALWAYS ,and ur true spirit in doing all this will make u a better person .no doubt that the movie was the biggest bullshit of all times i have ever seen in india cinema by a allegedly big producer . and did fatty tried to lose weight is something i cant remember, because i have a habit to forget bullshit asap. but he may or may not have tried .but the way gay johar portrait this was that the contest was not for all ppl , it was for ppl with girlfriends and fit physic and all

Dad doesn't get what his son wants and so son leaves him. he dis-inherits his dad's wealth ..doesn't he? Friends unite because they were close and this SOTY contest causes them to turn into enemies. No matter what ever fights happen between best friends, after some time(in movie's case-10 years) friends forgive each other and become friends again. In this movie Varun saying he slept with 100's of girls is just ice breaker ..sorta the non veg jokes you joke with friends.Same thing with ex ..its never good thing to be best friends with ex ..but being friends is ok.no big deal. Not close friends but just friends. don't know hat this "Darkside" you're talking about. if forgiving friends and being friends with ex is darkside ..then yeah we're attracted to darkside.

u can make what u want , i am not gonna force my views on anybody, you have ur own mind. but most ppl can see what is depicted in the movie except you? watch out the lashing in social media about the movie ..............huhbut this is plain illogical, that friends after 10 years can reunite and father son cannotleasantry::Bar:dis inhered means what??? can never unite??? then how did friends unite???i have not put any illuminati thing here..........mind u, its plain simple logic that gay johar has touched a new low

most people talking abt movie here didn't even see that movie! how's that? yes mhsabir, am talking to you. Just see the damn movie. its not that deep, its timepass.

We share everything with friends, we don't with fathers. If father had loved his son, he might have united again. But here father dislikes son even after the son gives up his property and leaves the house. and father tries to humiliate the son by bribing sid to win the race. so father never loved the son and vice versa ..how would they even unite at the end?

everything we do is for better lives. i like ferraris but i think i would be more thrilled if i got a mustang instead

Karan Johar’s directorial venture ‘Student Of The Year’ made about 4.75 Crores as per early estimates on its 1st Monday at the domestic box office. The movie had a pretty good weekend of 28.5 Crores and now stands at a domestic box office total of 33.25 Crores. For a movie with all newbies this is nothing short of an achievement. Needless to say Karan Johar has struck the right chords yet again.

I don't watch much movies, I think its obvious, I watched Inception recently, that tells a lot right. And I can't stand Karan Joker, and did not like some of the stuff he puts in his movies, so you need to pay me, in order for me to even consider to watch one of his movies. From the trailer itself, I pretty much know what's going to be in the movie, so no point in that. But I do read reviews and I do hear people talk about them, so I try to speak what I am clear about.Now let's take the rich guy, he is a brat, wears expensive clothes, drives ferrari, roams with girls, uses/displays crude language and behaviour, in high school, ,”high school" man and he is your student of the year. 1 word - wow.
