Well you guys are getting speed boosts because Airtel is systematically doubling the speeds of all its broadband users.

this is possible in every region u need to talk to customer care. my internet was not working from two days when i coplaint them they solved out the problem after that i am continueously getting 512kbps .when talked to cc they told me that it is only till 5gb per month i think i have already crossed 5 gb in last 5 days.I am Under UPEAST REGION.

same here and the plan which cc is talking abt is 649rs plan in which 512kbps speed till 5gb and after 5gb 256kbps speed... crap CC know nothing..lol

5GB sucks, no matter what! In this time and day, there needs to be no limit on downloads. If at all there is an FUP on higher speeds it should not be less than 1000GB at the least. Well, ISPs know for sure that at a given broadband speed, even if you used your connection for 24 hours, you cannot cross a certain download limit. So, even with a 1Mbps, you cannot cross more than 300GB, so why do they still have a 100GB download limit for 1mbps connection is not understandable from any angle. It sucks! In any case, FUP needs to go away, for good!

well they do have unlimited plans on offer. also... 1000GB is much more than the limits imposed by ISPs in 'developed' countries like USA. :)

Dude, Please read carefully again. I wrote that currently the download limit is 100GB with 1mbps, or 2mbps plan, and that either there should be no limits or (with the newly introduced 30 or 50mbps plans which cost upwards of Rs. 8000), the Fair Usage Policy should either NOT EXIST, or "SHOULD BE" like 1000GB or so. And, for your reference, you do not seem to be aware of the FUP(Fair Usage Policy that limits download to a given GB limit), because you write "well they do have unlimited plans on offer". There is nothing UNLIMITED about these so called plans as there is a cap on them.
