I have a Samsung Lcd TV (66 cms) DNle+ 3HDMI (including 1 side HDMI connection ) bought in march 2009 ,which is just lying idle. Can I use it as desktop monitor ? If I can , I will save Rs 6600.
Both the amd & intel boards suggested in the previous post have hdmi ports. So you won't have a problem in connecting it to your tv
But the intel board suggested over there supports limited resolution. So the bigger the monitortv the textsmall contents would look awkward. Also the problem is, that's the only entry level ivy mobo that has hdmi port. You need to double your mobo budget if you go for higher models with hdmi port ...
The AMD board suggested over there won't have that problem ...

Both the boards onboard gpu supports only upto 1920x1200 resolution via hdmi port. So if you connect bigger screen to the board the txts would look like floating. Managable upto 24, won't look that bad even at 26. But not advisable to connect 32 & bigger ...

So what buddie , 1920x1200 is very good resolution to be honest, Unless OP buys $1000 2560x1440 or $10,000 4K display i don't think he needs to worry!
