Sun Direct DTH start next month

SUN surely needs ZEE/STAR/Sony, but question is that will now ZEE & STAR provide them their channels and above that will SUN goto get its rival channels like RAJ, JAYA, ASIANET, KAIRALI to cover atleast Southern language bouquet?

Sun will surely have a more complete South Indian bouquet than Tata Sky as they will expect stronger subscription and preference in the South. PLus, Tata Sky is VERY weak on South Indian channels - even now when they have added AIR channels they have not added Tamil though they have added all other languages.

Yes, they are rivals....And to non-tamil people, the whole competition thing between these channels touches the depths of ridiculousness! (each is owned by one of the tamil-nadu political parties, so whenever the govt changes, the favoured channel for propaganda by the CM, also changes)I avoid the entire lot.

Sun DTH should have no problem in carrying Star Vijay etc. I am saying this simply based on the fact that the largest MSO, SCV which belongs to Sun network already carries Star Vijay, Jaya, Raj & many other rival Tamil channels.

I don't think that other than sun network channels are needed for south india. In my experience 90% of the peoples are watching sunnetwork channels. but they needs to add the north indian and english channels. Suppose the raj or jaya tv are denies the feed for Sun direct then they will become a big loser.

i think dishtv will take whole bouquet while Tata Sky will only take selected channels which they like as they say they have shortage of Transponders:rofl: so sun may also take only few Star channels if tatasky takes few . dishtv is lucky to get 5 more TPs vacated by DD from nss6. surely we will get more channels than tatasky.

Well JJVJWe don't need to take all SUN channels on our TP because Sun DTH will be come on same satellite Insat 4B and Dish Tv and Sun tv will follow same thing as we do with DD DTH.

Sun tv is going to off in DD Direct+ on 5th Auguest. So we should buy the Mpeg4 receiver from Sun network limited only.
