Sun Direct HD DTH Service

If you have HD Access, you get the HD versions of the channels included in your programming package. Don't forget that an HD television, 5-LNB dish, and HD equipment are required to see HD channels.


Bharat Kumar, how does one get HD Access? Should we ask Sun DTH for new equipment? Is HD on trial? Sun's recent press release speaks about HD. So it will be good if it is made clear how to receive HD. I have a HD TV that is unable to get any HD input

okay listen guys...this is the most useless topic on the forum...the poster has not really read what is going on.When it says that HD channels are present on current SD channels it does not mean that they are present on Sun Direct channels it means Standard Definition. because of this stupid misunderstanding everyone is thinking that SUN Direct is providing HD channels but thats absolutely false at the moment that have no HD channels, even the news reports are false.Just think for a second, if they were providing HD then they would inform you on there website as millions of ppl all over want to watch HD and it would be an advantage over Tata Sky and all.The thing the guy has copied and pasted is about Direct TV or Dish Tv USA not anything to do with India or Sun Direct. Don't paste if you cannot copy.

At present SD doesn't have any HD channels. They have plans like others to bring HD channels. Satco used to show that there were 2 test channels in HD and it was from SD. I am not sure about that as no one received any signals from it. But my friend said signal was coming at times and it was scrambled.Same kind of thread was also started in TS section by the same poster. He used to laugh at SD. This is a copy paste and it has no use for us in India.

these channels transmission has been started.
bUT this is under testing phase.
this can be seen INSAT 4B, NSS 6 - India (95.0E) Last Chart Update: 2009-03-09, 14:16 here.

this is a good move by SD. hope it will launch the open tv soon.

hai i am using homecast stb but i am not able to add these channel

First it was 11 mbps,but now they reduced the first channel to 8.96 mbps.But the second channel is 5.6mbps.A Normal Standard Def Channel will be 2mbps and more,and the HD channel is just 3mbps more?I don't understand how 5.6mbps video will be HD.Atleast HD channel should be 8mbps and more.So first channel is ok.But scond channel will not be a Full hd.:huh:
