Hi friend...
I managed to get the system installed and i have been told i will be the second customer in Karnataka :cool2:
Well, currently they don't even have the movie channels. But they do have two HD channels and Tamil/Telgu songs are played respectively.

Great friend !

unfortunately they have not launched the services herein kerala yet . could you please give us more info rgding this..
1. Which company/brand/model of STB do they provide?
2. What all VIDEO OUTS does it have like component,hdmi,S-video etc? Which output have u connected to your TV?
3. What are those 2 HD channels - tamil/telugu songs - that are currently available? I mean the names of those channels . Would be great if you can take some snapshots/photos of those and post em here .
4. How much have you paid initially?

Unfortunately i don't have the snaps ready. But i can try to answer your question.
1. It is of Samsung and labeled it as Sundirect HD as others do
2. I am not sure about S-Video. I need to go back and check. Else it has HDMI, Component & Composite with two channel analog (RCA) audio. It also has a digital audio out (Coax & not sure on optical out. need to check again).
I have got multiple connections.

a) HDMI out of STB to HDMI in of AV Receiver & HDMI Out from AVR to HDMI in of TV - Best for HD channel
b) Component out of STB to component in of AV Receiver & HDMI Out from AVR to HDMI in of TV - Good for HD channel & upscaled regular channel
c) Composite out of STB to Composite in of TV - Good to bypass the AVR

3. Those two channels are there own channels and it doesn't have any brand apart from their name (SD HD).
4. 1t was nearly 15K. if i am not wrong, it could be 14800 with one HD channel (Tamil which i opted for)

Since last friday i could see they putting movies at 7:30 pm and the quality (Video) was good. No doubt in audio quality.... it's true 5.1. Video yes, i could see slight difference in the quality of the four movies which i saw till now.

Good to see the details. What is the PCI card you are using and are you able to receive any other HD channels? You mogiht not a separate tamil & telgu channel as they are combined together and the second channel is now NGC HD.

What about other channels? Do they appear to be better than the normal DTH service? The channels would be broadcasted as digital. Any thoughts?

I am not talking about indian channels...

Why does star world look better in cable than sun dth? Does that mean the star world on cable is better than dvd quality?
is this ur basis of judging which is dvd quality&which is not?
just by seeing?hv u ever done any technical analysis of the picture quality before coming into the conclusion tht its below dvd quality?:D

----------

Tata Sky DTH the best and you should take it and throw this crap in some dustbin.

Why do i need technical details? Would you rather believe technical data than your eyes when looking at a picture to judge quality?
