@jithin_s: Did you use the same wire which you use to connect your modem to the splitter when you connected your modem to the main line directly?
If yes then the problem lies in the splitter & not in the wire connecting your splitter to your modem because if the problem would have been in the wire then even after connecting your modem directly to the main line your problem wouldn't have been solved as you were using the same wire.
no.. used the main line to directly connect to the modem... so the wire may still be the culprit
the problem is that my pc is in one room and splitter in another room... so there's a long wire that extends from the splitter to the modem.. have to check this wire out and also the mail line by the linesman... anyways thanks for your help!
