Dear Members,
My Syrotech ONT/ONU would lock on it's ethernet port every couple of hours or so i.e it would not allow any traffic to come in or out of the ethernet port. The model is GOPON-1000R-ONU and consists of an optical and ethernet port. I can't ping the ONU IP even from the router diagnostics that connect directly to it. After a while, the traffic resumes on it's own. The web interface tells me that the connection to LCO on the optical link was up all this while, so this seems to be the ONT problem of locking out the ethernet port.
I wasted a considerable amount of time on this and I could not find a similar problem or a fix for it. Prior to this Syrotech, I had the Netlink one which had its own problems (If it reboots, then it used to take 20mins to come back online). So I am lost all faith and patience with these VSOL knock-off ones.
Does anyone have any clues on what I can do to this syrotech ONT to get it working. I am more than happy to invest in a good quality ONT but none seem to be available in the market. The Huwaei or GX ones suggested here in the forums notoriously difficult to find. Any pointers in getting a decent ONT will be highly appreciated.
I was using BSNL, but now changed to some local LCO plan which is using Airtel as backhaul. I got the plan switched but the hardware (ONT, router) is the same.
Thanks!
