Syrotech SY-GPON-1110-WDONT – BSNL FTTH VoIP Ringing Issue

I am using BSNL FTTH landline with a new Syrotech 1110 WDONT. Internet and voice calling are otherwise working normally, but I am facing a strange issue with outgoing calls to some BSNL mobile numbers.

When I make an outgoing call from the BSNL FTTH landline to certain BSNL mobile numbers, the telephone handset connected to the ONT produces an unusual/incorrect ringing tone instead of the normal ringback tone.

The important point is:

  • The same issue occurs on two brand-new Syrotech 1110 WDONT ONTs.
  • The issue occurs only with some BSNL mobile numbers.
  • Other numbers work normally.
  • The actual call may connect normally, but the ringback tone heard on the landline handset is abnormal.
  • With my previous ONT, this particular behaviour was not observed.
Could this be related to any of the following?

  1. SIP/SDP interoperability
  2. 183 Session Progress / 180 Ringing signalling
  3. Early media / RTP
  4. Codec priority
  5. SIP response handling in the ONT
  6. DTMF or tone-generation settings
  7. Syrotech ONT firmware issue
  8. BSNL Softswitch/NGN/IMS interaction
Is there any ONT VoIP setting or firmware parameter that could cause an incorrect ringback tone only for calls to certain BSNL mobile numbers?

Has anyone using Syrotech 1110 WDONT with BSNL FTTH Voice experienced a similar issue?

Any technical explanation or troubleshooting suggestion would be appreciated.
