for a change i am gonna write a post where is am gonna talk nice things about tata indicom .

well i am a tata fixed line customer for the last 6 years have a credit limit of RS 25k, even though my bill is Rs 2k average ( telephone) and a adsl broadband customer for the 3 years. i use to have sify from 2003 to 2005. sify was also good expect for the odd renewal problem, in the starting they use to ask me to pay 1st and then renew, that was for 4-5 months. then i use to just call them then use to renew within 3-4 hours and collect payment next day. the thing i hated about sify was there data cap during days. so my 30 days plans would end up like 23-24 days.

sify was provided by my CTO, i do not remember having any technical problem with sify , as for the odd cable getting unplugged from the splitter in my building. the cable guy would correct it in a days time.

comming back to tata indicaom . when tata started adsl, they use to charge around RS 3k for instalation charge's. they charged me nothing. even the modem was given to me free, being a tata customer for many year's . i started with a 512 kbps plan and was having it for around 2.5 yrs , still i went abroad in may 2008, i changed to a 128 plan before i left, since there would be not heavy usage like me . Now i came back to india in april 2009. everything is working fine.

Over the past 3 yrs i do not remember facing any major disconnection , that may be due to the fact that my line is connected through well connected underground ducts to the junction box ( the junction box is within my society, at not a single point is the line open )

For the last 6 years, i think that i have been treated well by tata at all times. the last complaint was made by me yesterday for my landline. the instrument was not working properly, the changed it today morning with no charges.

My adsl modem has been changed 3 time's, not for problem. but tata indicom themself. saying that the new modem is the latest one. i have never asked for the change .

a couple of days back a engineer came by himself, he said that some copper had to be changed at the junction box and also the line has to replaced , since its now 6 years old. they did all the work themself and left, and even gave a new modem.

I do not know, there has been instance in the past when i got credit for 1-2 days when the line was down without even been told or noticed.

even if i have a problem with the connection, one phone call ( but have to admit that the call center guys are morons) , the engineer stand outside my door next morning by 11 am. even if i am not there . he sorts out all things by himself and make the connection fine.

after reading all the posts here , i just tried to recollect things , but never ever have i been irritated or wanted to bomb tata office.

we have to build a relationship , then only things will work. there is no use of abusing a engineer or the customer care guys for things beyond his control

I get there bills on time and regularly i have been paying them :yahoo:, i find them to be accurate, there has been even a instance when my whole family had gone out of town for 1 months, and no one there to pay the bill, they called me up and i explained, they just asked me to pay when i return. they did not even disconnect the line.

THE BEST MOMENT OF TATA I REMEMBER IS DURING THE 26th JULY 2005 FLOODING IN MUMBAI , THE WHOLE CITY WENT DOWN, BUT MY CONNECTION DID NOT GO DOWN EVEN FOR A SEC.

So lets not jump the gun and start calling them names, we all are humans at end of the day and also we are in india:P

I wish we could have more people reply from people who had good relation from tata.

Please do not mistake me, i am not famous person . i work in a MNC bank in a middle level post, which TATA will not even care about. so not mistake me to be a person from a political or a big business magnet family

is it such crime to write something nice about the service. 49 views no reply . This looks like totally gay :ashamed:

Maybe others were not so lucky , and did not have any good experiences to share ...

i have good experience with tata only 2 downtimes in last 4 months and that to of less than 5 mins:thumbsup:

that is what i am talking about . welcome baby

+1M using the 256 kbps unlimited connection since 5 mths now without a single second of disconnection. For about 2 months though, i never got the full bandwidth, although a 256kbps line, i got a max(which is also the avg, since its constant) 200kbps. The problem vanished all by itself n i started getting 30kBps download speed. NOTE : M USING THE TTML SERVICES not TATA INDICOM BROADBAND.kudos to their responsiveness, once i was facing problems with the router, they came within 2 hrs of my reporting the prob. Its true we might be the lucky few, so its a trial and error game.

Unfortunately, I'm another happy customer of Tata! I know for a fact that out here in Mumbai, their service satisfaction is based on where you are located, and here in Juhu their service is excellent. I have never had any major downtime over the last few years, apart from some ping issues here and there, and when I call them up, they always send someone to fix the problems. So far so good. :D

I have never used tata indicom DSL connection, but I did use tata's wimax broadband and my experience was horrible, I said really horrible. Every now and then u loose connectivity and the customer care ppl say it is because the modem is not getting IP address. How does it matter for me, I need un-interrupted connection, why should I bother about IP address. Once the IP address goes of u will get a new one only if u r lucky enough. After using it for a month, I called them and asked them to pack everything and get lost. Please never ever go for this Wimax thing.
