Country's second largest direct-to-home (DTH) company Tata Sky Ltd today said that within 20 months of its launch it crossed the two million connections mark milestone.

Its rival and market leader Dish TV recently crossed the 3 million DTH connections mark taking the total DTH susbcriber base in the country to over 5 million--about 7 per cent of the total cable homes in the country.

Tata Sky is a joint-venture between the TATA Group and Star and was launched in August 2006.

2 million customers trapped without having no access to 9XM, Bindass Movies, UTVi, Sahara Firangi, Zee Premier, Zee Classic, Zee Action, Zee Music, Zee Smile, ETC, Zee Sports etc.Although I have both of them, I must say its much much better than Dish TV.
 
how many of the users using this in india. maybe 50% only.

NEW DELHI: Direct-to-home service provider Tata Sky on Wednesday said it has crossed the two-million connections mark within 20 months of its launch.

"We continue to see significant growth to our subscriber base. We attribute the record sales numbers to our ongoing focus on providing cutting-edge technology, the most comprehensive channel line-up, innovative interactive services," TataSky Managing Director and CEO Vikram Kaushik said in a statement.

A JV between the TATA Group and STAR launched in 2006, TataSky has three high-end 24x7 call centres in Hyderabad, Mohali and Pune.

The company also offers interactive services ranging from education, cooking, quizzing, sports to 24x7 darshan of leading temples of the country.

At present, nearly 500 leading [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]schools[/COLOR][/COLOR] across India are using TataSky's educational services as a teaching aid within the classroom:thumbsup:.

The company has also announced its plan to launch its high-end personal video recorder (PVR) later this year, the statement added:yahoo:.
