These local cable guys are getting pain in a$$ nowadays. So, I am deciding to go for DTH service. It shud be reliable, flexible, user friendly etcBoth the providers are available in my city.Plz suggest me any one good provider.
If u are willing to Spend more money towards subscription, you can buy Tata Sky DTH. You get superb Video and Audio Clarity (which is far better than Dish TV's).
Mu suggestion is if you want to analyse DTH players TS - Dish TV - Big TV better wait for 1 year as you cant just judge the quality of the service and offerings in just 1 month. If you wanted to go for dish tv or TS better make a decision dont postpone your decision for big tv but if you are interested and trust big tv then go ahead with big tv. I had also had same confusion as i was waiting for the arrival of TS for 2 months since june 2006 finallyit was launched in the month of Aug - 06 and i trusted TS and now i am enjoying the services of TS. Credit for my decision goes to the dish tv subscribers on their reviews which made me and tempted me to go for TS and more importantly its not just only the TATA but the experience of Sky matter me a lot. If your trust big tv in earlier stage dont listen to any one and make your judgement on big tv. But if you want decide between TS - Dish TV go for TS. Because TS has got lot to offer for their subscribers but key point is willingness to pay marginally high than dish tv currently. I dont know how big tv will do in their costing in their channel offerings in the future. You make your own judements from this forum by reviewing all the threads in this forum and go for the dth soon.
I suppose that TS and DISH both maybe good. But in the future their technology for transmission maybe get behind.TRAI govt will use MPEG-4 as the compression tech but TS and DISH are MPEG-2. Just wait for some time until BigTV or SUN DIRECT are mature.Or get the Cable service for temporary solution.
Big tv will more than a year to settle down. It is not even available to general public; it has not started its services. What will be offered at what rates is also not known. Reliance is also cagey about its plans.Sun direct is suitable only for south; focus will be on regional channels. It is also making a jerky progress without any announcement of its future plans. For non south belt ts and dishtv in that order are preferable. mpeg4 and mpeg2 will not have any impact on the viewers. At least, for the present, it is more related to interoperability. Population migrating to other dth operators will be very small as in mobiles.
