this means they will give the normal PVR's and then tell us to upgrade to how much ever space we want by just buying HDD from the market

Well is this an option by any other provider across the globe ?
i think most of the PVR STB have internal hard drives and also an option to connect an external hdd but not just an external - moreover the remote provided does not have the Play/Pause etc button, not that they can't give another remote but the option seems mostly odd.
P.S: All this assuming you guys are discussing about the normal HD STB that TS has already released

is is an option for PS3 where you can change yout HDD on your own and it also plays like a DVR or PVR in Europe and JAPAN

I think it is to add a cam module , as hdd would not be able to fit into that slot.
A small HDD can fit and if they have a HDD slot then it would only benefit
