I have been moved from Bangalore to chennai. Here i have enquired with Cable TV... and really got shocked. If need a normal cable i need to pay 110 per month and 300 as an advance. advance is non refundable. If i need a STB, i need to pay 500 as advance and normal cable charges + package charges, which comes near by 350.

Also got wondered that all providers are almost equalent now. Only the installation charges varies.

Tata Sky, i need to pay minimum 260 RS to have the good channels .. it does not include any addon package.

If i go for BIG/Airtel and even sundirect.. the addon pack comes around 300. If i need of only Tamil, then the services are cheap in chennai.

I wonder now.. bangalore became far better.. i paid 120 RS... even for the connection with STB.. all most all the channels....

Shame on Chennai !!!... people are getting cheated here..

Tata Sky stands good in terms of customer service.. no one can beat them !!

In chennai i have took TS.. as i got this connection from my friend who has relocated to Kerala.

As promised.. installtion timing, commitment everything is fine.. CHEERS Tata Sky..

In Bangalore as far as I know they were charging Rs.230. In Chennai it is Rs.100 but some gunda cable operators again started to demand on their own.

Hi Dhoni, I am not sure about all the area charges in Bangalore. But when i had Hathway connection at my place i paid only 120 as an subscription charge. and i did not any CAS there.. i was getting all the pay channels and popular channels.. Not here like chennai they have made packages... So it was very cheap and worth to have the hathway connection in bangalore just by paying 500 for STB. But again.. as this subscription charges are depends on cable operators i do not know about other areas... Moreover.. the cable man also polite and much educated as i stayed in a surrounding of Apartments and villas.. But only the clarity was not up to the mark.. Cost wise... Hats off to Hathway Bangalore !!!

Tata Sky is a very bad choice considering you will be watching south indian channels.Sun Direct is still better.here in my small town ,asianet(franchisee as I am outer) cable asks Rs170 for the few channels they got.DTH is the way -till We got IPTV available everywhere.

Tata Sky is best, those who needs English Movie Channels and documentory and Cartoon Channels. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:Sun DTH is best, those who needs only Regional Channels.
