Telegram founder Pavel Durov has accused Reliance of disrupting access to Telegram for users outside India, days after the Indian govt temporarily blocked the platform.
Fun thing about the whole thing is that to show telegram in bad light government is praising whatsapp and facebook which basically tells you that telegram is more secure and private in india than WhatsApp.
The BGP hijack was carried out by AS18101, Reliance Communications, which was owned by Anil Ambani. However, many users mistakenly believed that it was carried out by Jio's AS55836 or AS64049.
That's why Jio publicly stated that it was not responsible for the incident.
