First day, first show at IMAX, Mumbai! Blew me out of my skins, another Nolan Masterpiece!
Firstly my advice here to all those who are planning to watch this movie, get a grip on Batman Begins and the Dark Knight first (if you haven't seen it, this one would appeal less to you). Please please don't read the plot on wiki or anywhere else, it'l ruin it.
Ah well a little review then as all the hype around this movie truly lives up to it. Its an 8 year jump from TDK and hosts plenty of new characters. Infact except Bale and Anna Hathaway it is the entire award winning cast of Inception here. The first half of the movie is more engaging than exciting. Infact at interval I did wonder whether the movie had been overrated by critics. As it seems like Nolan pretty much wanted 'this' thought process of the audience of expecting less after the first half. As after the interval, the movie unprecedentedly skies high in every aspect. You realize every element of the first half was a build up to make the second half as EPIC as it was, the suspense, action and finish leave you jaw dropped. The crowd cheered several times and at the END of the movie, a lady who seemed like a disinterested high society 'nautanki' sitting beside me with her sons started clapping involuntarily. Yes it was that awesome!
Cast performance, Anne Hathaway was good, Michael Caine (Alfred) was more sentimental than the previous two installments but the real brilliant role to me was Joseph Gordon-Levitt a.k.a John Blake/_______ (fill that after watching the movie)

The special effects and the high intensity scenes are as good as its predecessors and infact the 'Bat' made it even better.
Now as comparisons are being made with the 2nd movie (The Dark Knight), I would say TDK was a slightly more complete movie, Joker's (Heath Ledger) insaneness keeps you freaked throughout, and believe me! Bane (Tom Hardy) is no less in TDKR, he does beat the hell out of Batman, and is quite intimidating in his own role which takes its course of run time to develop though. The suspense/drama of the second half dominates your head after leaving the screens, so I won't be surprised if people say TDKR was the better movie. It marks an end of Batman's 'legacy' in an epic manner, truly above expectations.
Actually it might unfair to even compare, as they are based on two different stages and circumstances of Bruce Wayne's life and how the director saw it. Frankly speaking more than Bale, Hathaway on any person else this was Nolan's storytelling and direction which stole the show. If you'v seen the Inception, this movie is best described as 'Where Dark Knight meets Inception' as the plot has Nolan's essence from both these movies.
Overall its a joy ride, makes the Amazing Spidey look like scum, The Avengers bow as well ! The daddy of superhero movies is here, a Trilogy ends which might give The Lord of the Rings some serious competition!
My Rating to the 'Movie of the Year' - 8.8/10
