The death of 2D HD: 3D HD DVR Officially launched by Videocon d2h

I want to know a little more on this - coz i am under the impression that a TRUE 3D, means that the images/videos, will be actually projecting out from a screen......

Projection as in - If from the front of the screen u can see the front of an object, then u just have to move to a side, to watch its other sides.....

You'll get that effect in both fake as well as real 3D but its hard to explain unless you've seen it urself. I can tell u this, in one screen in Avatar where a spear comes straight towards one of the blu dude half the crowd in the hall involuntarily ducked their heads!! I've heard Drive Angry goes even further and better as well as 3D effects are concerned.

Is it Real or Fake 3D?

I think their HD (DVR) has the HDMI interface version 1.4x which is the one version can carry 3D content over HDMI now. Other's HD (DVR) STB may not be having this now. Thats how it becomes 3D HD (DVR) STB. Other than that content should be available to every operator if its available to D2H. Even other operators can move to a new STB with HDMI V1.4x and claim the same.

Instead of creating unnecessary buzz, you (operators) give the stereo audio on all channels which is a basic quality and necessity.

@sivanbalaji

Good info...
& ur words are correct about the sound portion.....but 3d dvr launch is a great achievement in Indian dth space,so its natural to create a hype everywhere.....

well the news source is authentic....and you can watch 3d on youtube without glasses :D

Oh thats really awesome.....Crowd in the theatre actually ducking!!I dont think such an experience can be felt at home, unless u have a TV which covers a huge chunk of ur wall.Surely not upto sizes of 42/46 inches. Howsoever wide they look, u still wont get that much fooled by it that u need to duck in front of it!!Havent experienced it, so my claim may be wrong - so i am trying to find some 3D stuff for download & to see a sample of it on my TV......

Oh is it?? I will surely do that now!!Btw, i am curious to know, which channel isnt available in Stereo sound?? I mean all channels - SD or HD - are atleast Stereo quality.....just that we would like to have 5.1 instead!!

Gud launch but nothing but to create a hype. HD is bleak for India with upscale crap now its 3D. God save these co's.

Avishek,Looks like u have edited ur post......will check those links, coz i felt Youtube would not be the right source for 3D Videos......i have never come across real HD videos there as yet. (I repeat, I have never come across!!)Jignesh....Details are still raw. We just know this much that there's 3D. How much real it is, will be seen only when some content is aired.

Hey Guys, hmmm..... some nice discussion is going on ! I think they will be using some 2D to 3D conversion techniques as is provided by some softwares, don't know how much effective the same is !

Don't know if u have checked this software/player which claims to be converting 2D to 3D as without a 3D tv its hard to verify their claims! You can also check this out -Cyberlink Powerdvd-10

Things it boasts -

Arcsoft Total Media Theatre Platinum 5 also boasts similar features......Sim HD, Sim 3D......But the point is - Vineet told me that 3D TV will be needed to watch 3D channel. So i think, it wont be a mere converted one....
