Why so you get upset when blame is put on UPA? LMAO I don’t. They milked MTNL for as much as they can back in 2004 when MTNL was at it’s peak. But at the same time, I won’t forgive BJP (Vajpayee govt 1999-2004) for selling VSNL gateway to TATA.

Sorry I don't know much about the vsnl selling. But considering how poorly mtnl manages their infrastructure, they would have filled whole network with shit adphonso pop-ups.

I have still not received my deposit after disconnecting my line. Now they have a new reason to their repertoire. Wondering if I should declare it as NPA

You might not get it ever. I am happy with MTNL FTTH 100 Mbps service. But it seems like we may have hit a dead end as Airtel, Jio and other competitors like Tata Sky Broadband have more than 100 Mbps plans. But MTNL Mumbai is damn scared to launch plans beyond 100 Mbps. If you know, the current plans are more than 1 year old. Total stagnation.

SoBo landlines dead for a month; elderly worst hit

Elderly residents of south Mumbai have been unable to reach out to their relatives in times of need owing to disruption of MTNL landlines services in the area for nearly a month. A number of senior citizens in Churchgate and Marine still rely only on landlines to make calls.

My landline was dead for over a month & every complaint was closed saying that its been fixed. That's when I decided to get rid of it.

It was Bjapayee Govt, with Pramod Mahajan, that gave Mukesh Ambani, in Dec 2002, backdoor entry into mobile telephony through illegal use of WLL technology, so that Ambani did not have to pay high licence fees. The entry of RIM changed Indian telephone market forever.

Since Aug 08 2020 the mtnl landline is dead and no one in mtnl to respond to me on twitter. It seems end of an era. They will perish soon.

Bsnl too has lately gone to the dogs, both landline and ftth.

My landline is down for nearly a month now, others in my area for multiple months, no response to registered complaints and ignoring Twitter and even pgportal no progress.

Ftth so far is working acceptable but don't know when it will also go for a toss.

I guess cash crunch is getting more and more severe.
