The Good Wife (CBS, 2009-2016)

lol. not sure where this show is headed but there are enough plots and twists for another couple of seasons. the writers end up doing something that keeps you hooked.

As long as they keep the sex scenes out of the way. Whenever they add a romance angle to the story, it gets annoying.

Well yeah. She is always fun to watch. Though I would have preferred if she had joined their firm instead of become fresh competition.

Plus the repeatedness of the lift scene. Man that was annoying. Plus no mention of an affair back in college? I thought they had a fling during that time period?

They behaved as they just knew each other. When did the chemistry develop between them? In the office at LG? I guess I do not remember much from the first season.

Well, flashbacks are always tricky, especially a pre-pilot flashback episode. Usually, they show bad wigs, bangs and mostly tell the story we already know.
But, "The Good Wife" did it very well. It made it into a character study. It showed how Alicia perceives herself. About what she's done and where she wants to go. And with all the back and forth between the telephone conversations and flashbacks, it takes a lot of skill to make those transitions as seamless as they did. This is easily the best show on any broadcast network. No wonder CBS keeps renewing it despite the poor ratings. It's a prestige show for them.
They repeatedly showed the elevator scene because that moment when Will held the door open kept intruding Alicia's thoughts. Elevator is also the place where they usually flirt.
There are two ways of looking at her recruitment. Will could have seen her as a potential fling. Or he really felt a connection with someone he cared about and admired in college. He might have seen her when every other every other law firm saw her as "The Good Wife" of the disgraced Peter Florrick. All said and done, I don't think Alicia owes Will anything. She did her job well during her tenure at Will & Gardener.

There are great guest stars on 'The Good Wife." But, Carrie Preston (Elsbeth Tascioni) is my favorite, with due respect to Michael J Fox and Martha Plimpton.
I don't think she can join Alicia's firm or that she will be a real competition to them because she's not a regular as long as she's a regular on "True Blood." May be, she can be promoted to be a regular in the next season because "True Blood" ends this summer. She also guests as Finch's ex-gf on "Person of Interest." She incidentally is the wife of Michael Emerson (Finch) in real life.
