The Good Wife (CBS, 2009-2016)

This was a great season. The title of the finale was "A weird year" which was apt in terms of the universe of this show.
It upended the premise at the end of last season. And then it pursued every other status quo and attacked it.
Terrific show.
P.S. Cary Agos has his fans and they blame the writers for screwing up with his character time and again. I never liked or rooted for him.

The actor (Matt Czuchry) was good but I don't like that character and I don't like the betrayal. All characters including Alicia are morally ambiguous and aren't above manipulating but Alicia wouldn't have betrayed him like that.

Going to Canning was betrayal? I do not think so. Alicia left him with no other option knowing that she has the votes. From what I see, he is more dedicated to his firm than Alicia who keeps on changing her mind again and again. So Alicia was betraying the firm and all the staffers who would have laid down after the merger.

Merging a firm with another is not tantamount to betrayal. Mergers happen all the time. The firm is struggling. Without Alicia, that firm will go under in any case as they would lose Chumhum and some other clients. Isn't deciding by votes the democratic way to go about it? Instead of resolving his reservations about the merger with Alicia, Cary went and slept with the enemy. There's no trusting that guy in the future.
I guess let's agree to disagree.

Cary and Alicia are equal partners at Florrick & Agos. Alicia doesn't have any upper hand. There's a proposal. One way is to agree to the proposal unilaterally. But, if there's dissent, voting among the board members is the second best. It's not like the votes were being bought like what was being done at Lockhart & Gardner.
Talking about the firm, the sheer existence of it was in jeopardy when Cary allowed himself to be conned by Kalinda. They had to operate from Alicia's home to start with.

What about Alicia deciding on a merger while getting drunk with Diane? I do not remember it exactly but she did not even bother to tell Cary about her talks with Diane. He found it out from another source.
