Hi, so apparently BSNL’s backend is not good, they have only 1G. Which is also down most of the time.

I’m thinking of getting Airtel, TaTa or any other uplink. (Maybe a leased line if partnership doesn’t work out).
Any suggestions on how easily do they give the uplink?
If buying transit from Tier-1 or Tier-2 providers, you would require
1. ASN
2. IP block
3. Billing system
4. Bandwidth management system
5. Core and access routers, switches
6. Peering at IX
This would require a large investment.

As said by @vignesh_venkatesan franchisee model may be the best to start with as the franchisee only need to build and maintain last mile network.

I’ll go with franchise model.

BUTTTTTT!

I am curious, how do I connect to these companies? Let’s say there is a company called FiveNet.

It is in 30 cities (LCO). Does it mean that the company has laid down the fibre to all the 30 cities? 🤔 how does it work?

From where does the LCO get Internet? Let’s say that I want to connect to FiveNet

@Nikhil Sharma No..
Even big ISPs like ACT won't have fiber to all the cities they operate in.
They would buy leased circuit between the cities from players like airtel, bsnl,Railtel, powergrid etc.
If an LCO needs a uplink then the provider will get a circuit from any of the above stated providers and provide service.

Okay, so I’m not taking leased circut (just saying so I sound less noob in my next question).

Is this leased circuit option good for these ISPs like Fivenet? Doesn’t Airtel charge a lot?

@Nikhil Sharma As you said they have presence in 30 cities.. So They would probably have tie-up with a big telco so they get better price than we might get if we approach a big telco.
Even if you get thier franchisee they would handle all the affairs with Airtel and you'd deal only with fivenet.

I think most of the ISPs running franchise model takes care of provisioning and maintaining their network up to LCO's OLT

Most of big isp charge 1lakh for 1mbps for lease line. And 10-20 k for over time setup depending on distance from data center.

ACT, You broadband, Tata. Not sure about Airtel and BSNL

1lakh annually and they need 3 months minimum iirc

You will get dedicated account manager and 8 static ip bundle minimum order quantity

Also I have tried to contact Airtel from website but no response. This was 1 month ago. I tired multiple times also

Do you mean Mbps (Megabits per second) or MBps (Megabytes per second)?

Cause if its Mbps then its very costly. seriously 1L for 1 Mbps 😕
