Do let us know how the backend works and all the nitty gritty stuffs after you deploy it.
I’m thinking of rolling out IPTV with android setup box.
Okay so updated thread:
I have calculated the cost; I’ll get
A basic OLT — 23,000
Drop fibre 500m — 7r metre.
(Don’t worry about fibre splicing and all as I’ll take care of it)
Junction box (not giving yet).
As far as BSNL costs are concerned there are no costs in my SSA as of now.
My current concern is: I want to rollout IPTV just like BSNL is doing with some third party in Tamil Nadu circle. I just want to make the deal good and want to rollout triple play. If I rollout IPTV I will be able to convert all these DTH users to my FTTH. Maybe I can give CATV or an android setup box.
I don’t know how to do that, I’m just concerned about the IPTV feed. Other than that I can take care.
Also: I’m doing this just for my experiment.
@varkey @Shailendra P.
your prices for 4port olt ,pon and onu is way high..These are old prices , more recently prices of olt onu are incresed by 25%. Due to increased import duty and low shipment from china due to covid.
As of today 4port OLT cost around 41K+ PON module 2.5K each+ ONU( voice and wifi ) around 2500/- . Fiber cable price is still same as before due to made in india. Also if you want IPTV you have to use GPON technology . OLT for GPON are carrier class and cost around 150k.
Few points for tv over ftth triple play
Option 1. Digital TV (jst like your cable operator)
You have to be a LCO for that and take feed from mso headend or setup your own headend.
1.1 if you want to take feed from an mso ,best possible way is to take a fiber cable from nearest cable operator control room to your olt.
1.1.1 you have to use wdm (wavelength division multiplexer ) to use single fiber for internet amd digital tv , also have to install onu with coaxial output at customer side . The coaxial out then go to their stb .
1.1.2 PON tech use 1310nm and 1550nm as down and uplink , Digital TV use 1410nm downlink.
1.1.3 if the cable operator control room is far away and you want wireless delivery of channel feed then you need modulator at your end and atleast 800mbps of wireless link .
5-10mbps per channel (as per encoding)* 100channel atleast.
1.2 to setup your own headend and multiplex with ftth
1.2.1 very high cost around 1M , need to setup different ku,and c band dishes to receive different channels then need encoder ,scarmbler and modulator. Only viable if youre targetting 10k+ user.
2. To use IPTV with ftth
2.1 have to use GEPON
2.2 still need bandwidth of 1Gbps (NLD ckt between data center and your pop)
2.3 have to install local cache server to reduce NLD cost.
3. Better to use OTT just like jiotv, firestick
3.1 need to have android setup box
3.2 need to buy subscription separate ( some agreegrator in india proving apps with full tv channels with reasonable price.
3.3 customer can use their broadband connection to acces that.
3.4 you can use cheaper EPON tech.
