Should I pay any initial charges or deposit to bsnl?

A LCO agreed to setup a network under their name in order to save time on registration process. He is saying like 50k Will be spent on registering the company and tin etc., is it true?

Don’t sign agreement on lco name, you can get postal license or you can register msme on online and sign agreement on your name.

If you want to register on business name,prepare partnership deed and get pan for business & msme. Max 5-7 days

Or he can start as proprietor. You will be able to use the pan card you have as individual.

@Thegreat after running behind BSNL for years, I switched to Mikrotik sxt lte to get stable internet connection from a private 4g operator. Of course, the running cost is high and data is limited (compared to a fiber plan). But, I have peace. Now, I share it (4g connection) with my neighbour too.

Decided to register under my name. Registered as proprietor in msme portal. Bsnl guys ping pong'ed me for about 5 times. Completed the application process last week. But no notification/information from bsnl side till now.

I feel dealing with these people are super non-productive and feeling almost to give up.

@pothi I am currently using the TP-Link 4g lte+ router with jio but it is suffering for my office remote connection.

Don't give up on BSNL. You will get used to the slowness. When it works, it works great.

Mikrotik offers outdoor unit that can be mounted on rooftop. So, it's quiet different from in-house devices that resembles our smart phones with hotspot. With an outdoor unit, the difference is usually between apples and oranges. Basically, outdoor units can't be compared with indoor units. Of course, we need a line of sight. That's why outdoor units are not generally recommended in cities. In villages, we can easily get line of sight with a pole on rooftop or on a tree.

Finally they called up and application got approved and the vendor agreement is got signed. Hoping to get connection in next couple of weeks. Hoping to get 7-10 connections initially in 500m radius.

Looking for good OLT. Existing vendor suggested kwashish. Splicing may be a challenge now. Highly appreciate everyone's input.

@nishantt6969 No other option than spending on OLT. If I need fiber then I have to spend on OLT. Along with cables, deposits the total expenditure expected around 80K.

I know it will be a sure loss for me as I will be spending the entire revenue from a single connection for splicing it, if the cable gets cut. But I have the some good feeling for bringing fiber to my village. From 6 - 7 connections it is far to recoup initial investments. But I am getting OLT in my house and so very less chance of downtime so happy with it.
