Got workorder from bsnl. Purchased olt and 2km of cable. Now it went to the very first person to who expects bribe. And I feel they were intentionally making a delay saying they are still trying to free up the port. The BSNL lineman have also given the application who is influencing the delay. I feel like I may not even get the connection from bsnl.

So now thinking to get connection from railtel or some other providers. Anyone aware about the process for railtel?
 
Meanwhile try getting Excitel's contract if they want to serve there & have feasibility then you're good to go.
 
Finally !!! All the procedures were done and the OLT is activated from April 1. Got around 8 connections. But the OFC is down from yesterday due to highways work and I was not deploying modems. This being really frustrating and the same BSNL delays are happening.

I have got kwahish OLT and now I am thinking to deploy a backup connection. May be a stupid idea, but I have a 4G+ router and trying to use is as another source of internet. But not sure how to configure in OLT to provide internet to customers if BSNL is down. They would be happy with 512 kbps connection at least instead of complete downtime.

Can someone help me.
 
I dont think people here know about configurations of OLT.
 
Inspired by this thread I'm planning to launch xgspon ftth 10 gbps network. Plans start from 500 Mbps for ₹499 and 10 gbps for ₹4k. Since GPON ftth are common everywhere isn't opting for xgspon and giving 10 gbps plans to customers to wipeout the competition is the best way. How much cost to buy bandwidth from existing isp or to build my own submarine cable like jio or airtel
 
What is the purpose of trolling in this thread ?

And please stop suggesting TP-Link gear to someone running an ISP. It barely suffices in a home network, It's a terrible recommendation to run a ISP.
 
Not trolling need to check the cost before doing anything stupid currently my place have 4-5 isp offering ftth all of them are using GPON so if I need to enter I need to give customers something extra otherwise it will be a waste so that's why I'm asking here

I was able to get it working somehow. I have TP-Link 4G+ router and was able to share the Internet from OLT to ONT. But it is a manual process to change the configuration.

So plan is to go with postpaid unlimited plan of jio and will give backup internet option to 100mbps plan customers as I can't share with all.

Searching for something to make the process automatic. I am purely doing this like charity and for loss. Internet means different to different people.
