yup, home users will mostly use web-based gmail, yahoo, msn/live etc... office users probably use outlook or evolution/kmail already so no incentive to download and install thunderbird except maybe windows users who dont want to pay for office 2003/2007

actually it was moved from mozilla group to a new group named mozilla messaging. the official thunderbird site is now at mozillamessaging.com. it is still being developed actively. the official mozilla foundation is concentrating on firefox.
