Our house has been knocked atleast 6-7 times that I know off asking for an ex-neighbour (same building or next one) who has disappeared without paying bills, sometimes asking for non-existing people with vague addresses. A bank rep (collection agent?) even came 2-3 times just because the name happened to be of a Muslim and we were the only ones with a residential house in the surroundings /facepalm . So, well they have a valid excuse of being cautious.
Well Thats there..but banks don't seem to be cautious when it comes to public and private corporations. That pisses me off. If a customer has been your customer for 13 years ..then atleast they should get benefit of doubt.

Yup. I can join a private company for a few months and get priority acceptance to loads of credit cards. What is the point of maintaining a good credit history if it cannot even get me a good credit card? I am not interested in loans. I just want a good credit card :D

Yup. The only reason I am not dumping my StanChart credit card is because it has decent benefits and does not cost me any yearly fees. There was no joining fees as well. Today they charge a yearly fee from second year for new customers.

:D apply to cancel the card unless they drop the charges. but be prepared to cancel the card if they do not agree

Right. So the proper way would be to apply for some new cards and then get a backup card. :tongue:I recently joined a new service that might have some lead based campaigns. :D If you are interested, I can generate a lead for you

Like Affiliate Campaigns... There are lead based campaigns. Have you never got a spam mail pimping a life insurance policy or a credit card? These mailers are not from banks themselves. They pay money to get leads from third party companies. I hate such campaigns.I just joined such a program. Though have no plans to send bulk mailers for obvious reasons.Never mind. All the available campaigns are for loans. None for credit cards. Just checked.
