@spsp92 Heard it's decent in my area. But will have to check with more knowledgeable people.
@riteshriteshritesh 😃 Is it. I went to the shop in Mahim in the evening (as suggested by the twitter team) & the address on shitel site is WRONG (yes that's true, it 3 bldgs away from location mentioned) & because of the metro work its a nightmare getting to the shop finally. He said he would do it but v v reluctantly. 🤦‍♂️

Main problem is in the office location Jio does not work so shitel is the remaining option.
The main problem I had said was 'Main problem is in the office location Jio does not work so shitel is the remaining option.'
But I put my Jio sim in family members phone & when it was tried out we were in for a pleasant surprise that jio sim works quite well (12Mbps speed) so port was done to jio & this change over happened uneventfully today😃.
Moral of story it's always better to check for one's selves rather than go by heresay. 👍🏻
So because of the BS Airtel handed out to us they lost not 1 but 3 customers. Will tweet that to them later. 😏

Oh well, I ported 1 SIM to Airtel prepaid but the smart alec there deliberately gave me a post paid Rs 259/mth plan. He called me up later with offers for a family account that comprised a landline, 3 SIMs and a Xtreme set top box..all in one bill. I was furious at the post paid and told him I will consider other services only if he migrates me to prepaid next month or I will port out. He's agreed to do the migration next month.

Now for the good - Airtel is about 50% faster than Jio in my residential area according to speedtest. And because it has 3G support it has better coverage indoors, not to mention VoWiFi to back it up. Airtel VoWiFi also works with my old OP5 which now has 2 SIMs Jio primary and Airtel secondary. While my primary operator is Jio, I wanted a backup network and so far Airtel is doing a decent job of it. No regrets so far.

I doubt either( conversion or portout) can happen before 90 days. Be prepared to hang on to postpaid for 90 days. The executives say BS to save their skin.

@riteshriteshritesh I think you are right 90 days is a minimum requirement. Going by @C3PO & my experience it looks misleading with false promises or giving plain lies seems to be company policy. 😡
When I went to the Mahim Airtel shop I met a couple who had gone to the same shop as I had (which gave me the BS story) & were given the same BS story in Nov 2019. I got that bull in March 2020.

My experience with the Airtel store in Kasturi Nagar, Bangalore was pleasant. I had gone to port a Vodafone connection to Airtel in June 2019. I went with the intention to port to prepaid and they definitely tried to upsell and make me take postpaid but in a polite manner. At no point was I denied a prepaid port-in.

Anyway, I ended up opting for the postpaid connection, as they offered a discounted 225 Rs per month plan with unlimited calls and SMS with 30 GB data (supports rollover as well).

Looks like they bumped the per month data allowance to 40 GB 😅
