Went to the Airtel Express shop at Shivaji park Mumbai. Address:
Flat No.1 & 1A, Bhaskar Bhuwan,233, L.J. Road,Mahim, Mumbai, Mahim ARC, Maharashtra 400016
I was told Vodafone postpaid to Airtel prepaid can't be done. A postpaid plan 399-/ was being pushed. Some story of shop going to be renovated so we can't do porting to prepaid was given to me. V disappointed. Also prepaid will be available only after May. I don't understand what's the connection between their store renovation & porting to prepaid. Total load of BS.
GAve my feedback to Airtel via DM on twitter.
Hey. I think we are neighbours. Go to Airtel Prabhadevi, opp Beaumonde towers and ask for Suraj. Tell him just last week you ported out 4 numbers of Ritesh and you were referred by him. Like I said, don't even mention you are on Vodafone postpaid. Tell Vodafone prepaid to Airtel Prepaid, Give him the UPC and you are good to go. Lie for your own benefit, else they will give all sort of nonsense.
Airtel just has to input the new Sim serial number, UPC and a bunch load of details and they are good to go. And later when you get retention calls from Vodafone, even if you don't pick up any, the porting cannot be stopped. With the new portingrules, once UPC is generated ( which is only if all criteria to port out is met)and Receipient company has the UPC no one in this world can reject the Port.
@socrates Stores can be nasty. Download Airtel app. And Opt for prepaid. Choose porting. They will deliver SIM at home (for Rs 99) and pickup documents as well. Cuts all the middle men.
True, I ported an Idea MH to Airtel Prepaid Mumbai online. The homedelivery guy fleeced 299 in the pretext of FRC by asking me to do a Paytm payment to his Boss, along with the 99 delivery charges. The port changeover happened Saturday Night and the guy was not reachable on Sunday. So I did the FRC for 249 on Sunday and tweeted how I got fleeced. Airtel Social Media got in touch with the Home delivery agent and made him refund my money over Paytm again.
