@vignesh_venkatesan :
1) So Voda and airtel were like lets cut the crop here in India and reap the harvest internationally? Like keep the indians on bad infra and extract as much as moolah you can? Didn't understand single-vendor stuff, won't someoen at their level will prefer to have multiple vendor to safeguard themselves?

2) They could have infused the demands by providing better speeds/data cap in comparison to JIo 4gb/day but again I am not in there shoes so I don't know much about the scene
3) Yep reliancee was stressing its oil assets to fend off the JIO investement stress, i've heard of this rumour too

Btw can you give any reference or article which traces back what happened in indian telecom industry since 2015(I like history so if there is abook tracing development of indian telecom, I would love to buy it)

Still they are operating on separate networks here and not integrated fully with each just operating on 10Mhz for 4G giving poor services and speaking about fixing floor price !

1) Vodafone was doing stock buyback to improve their stock prices.
Airtel was having international aspirations and was pouring money into thier Africa business. It isn't like keeping indians on bad infra and make money it was more like all the networks at the time we're almost in similar shape, similar prices so there was no incentive to invest money.
Having multiple vendors may have some advantages but having single vendor will get you better pricing, better efficiency and custom solutions (if required) at great pricing.
Also samsung phones work better in Jio's network.
Jio's infra Reliance Jio Telecom
2) India is a price sensitive market you can pull them by offering cheaper prices but it would not increase thier consumption. To boost the consumption they had to give it for free. Incumbents were not ready/not afford to give free service instead they were trying to market their so called better "QoS" in the initial jio days. Even then they couldn't stop revenue drop.
3)Yes RIL wants to be debt free that's why they tied up with Aramco, launched half baked Jiofiber.
RIL to invest Rs 1 lakh cr in new unit to help make Jio debt-free

A short article on why AGR dues arose can be found here:

Above all,I consider the Revenue sharing policy to be absolutely foolish.Man....They bought it in auction...Still,you want a share of their revenue.

And to clarify further... Developing a Greenfield network had, have ,and will continue to have benefits as it allow you to introduce new technology and experiment with custom solutions with freedom for bold moves.
In old networks, the transition is not so smooth. You have to change the core which is complex as re-routing for affected traffic is required(in 2015 when network core were not great enough for handling great influx.Imagine a Peer port of 1 Gbps getting 2 Gbps)and further optimization is needed.
Then, you need modifications in transition pas of the network which includes using new routers and technology for higher packets ,MTU and fiber optics improvement.Sometimes, wireless back haule are also needed to be upgraded for 4g network upgrade from 3g and it is very costly. If not upgraded,4g looses on latency and burst speed(used for almost each isp) looses it's significance and efficiency.
Now,You are at BTS and radio antenna need upgrades.
And you have a fully functional,4g network from age old 2g network.
Just to mention,Most do the 2gand 3g towers used in 2015 had wireless backhaul.

Using 2G-3G core network and backhaul for 4G is like driving a Ferrari in a congested single lane road.
No use of upgrading the edge network if core cannot handle it.
This is the reason why India has poor 4G speeds.

How come we even think they had 10 years to change the core?
Even if you consider that 4g was becoming mainstream in 2014,it was still very costly task to upgrade a network as india liberalised 5 GHz late. Thus wireless back haul were stuck to limited speed. It was not until Jio came and started using fiber as back end that pressure led to bleeding competition and upgradation.
Just to quote, most of VIL and Airtel towers lacked the proper back haul in 2016.
It is easy to say,if you just study a little about how intensive it is to maintain such large scale network while being considered by cash cow by government.
And just to be honest, most of the cost on calling was due to interconnection fee.Had it been resolved earlier,we could have great networks.
Just to quote,Most of the fiber asset under BSML is being wasted.
Consider a fiber cable which can output 100 gigabit speed at minimum easily being used for stupid 50 Mbps connection only.
The incompetence of government officials who don't know enough to most efficiently use the asset is leading to massive losses due to inefficiency.
We should consider to create shared infrastructures for fiber usage. It would be great as all would gain equally.
The 5ghz backhaul capablilty was brought late in 2015 and prices were very high.Incompatibility was also big issue until competition led to great optimization requirement from vendors.
