TP-Link Archer A6v3 OpenWRT Issues

@Lolita_Magnum Hey long term opinion about openwrt on archer c6 v3

I've bricked my archer v2 during pandemic while trying to install openwrt, it is stuck in boot loop so can't risk frying up another one
All my devices are on wifi and i want to use wireguard client directly on openwrt

C6 V3 with MT7621. If you have software and hardware offloading enabled, then there should be no issues but don't expect your device to do anything crazy once it's being hammered by WireGuard.

You can get an avg. of 100-120Mbps with WireGuard and there will be no drops with the above enabled, even with wireless on.

I have stopped using TP-Link a long time ago. I needed better hardware for my use-case.

Thank you so much, will read more about it tonight. Looks like this sunday won't be boring

edit : If it is spare for you and you wanna sell i can buy

Bumping this old thread, as i have a TP Linker Archer A6-V3 US model lying with me. Saw i can p[ut Open WRT on it. So
any recommended curent builds i can use on which everything would work fine. Do not want to experiment to much with it.

I see the latest version is still supported on it. xxxx://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/TP-Link/tp-link_archer_a6_v3

Any inputs from existing users, what version they are running on which works better.

Was running on 23.05 since a long time at home router and I can vouch for good uptime and good Wi-Fi performance.

Recently upgraded to 24.05, been a week and it has been having the same reliability so far with some more added options in the firmware.
