Unlimited Broadband plan

Hi everyone
Came back here after such a long time that while signing up, the system had to tell me that my mail ID was already in use.
Been studying/working/living in Metro cities for quite some time now so never had problem in choosing a broadband service provider as both operators and plans were aplenty. Now shifting back home due to Covid, the broadband situation has become more important than ever. This is where I need help from fellow forum members.

Currently I'm using BSNL's broadband connection which has been here since 2006. Plan that is on, is 4GB CUL for which I'm paying 707 /- (inclusive of taxes) per month. Now it says speeds upto 10Mbps till 4GB and 2Mbps beyond that but even before daily FUP breach and decline, the actual download speed never goes beyond 250KBps.

My usage scenario includes, Video Calling/Conferencing, OTT TV viewing, Online MOOCs and Torrent Downloads.
In Delhi, my last station, I was using "Ten2Ten" broadband service and, even with their 500 UL plan, which gave almost 8MBps (yes MB, not Mb), my average monthly download traffic was around 800GB-1TB.

So here are my queries:

1. Is the speed being delivered commensurate with the plan?
2. Can it be improved? If yes then how?
3. Are Airtel or Reliance offering any "Truly Unlimited" plan, without the FUP?
4. Out of the 2, who has better Customer Support?
5. For a heavy usage/download, which/whose plan would you suggest?

That's what concerns me. What's the point of paying a premium for service if one won't get what they are actually paying for.
Barring the speed issue, haven't had any problem with BSNL since last 6 months of usage. If Airtel's restrictive policies are a norm then guess will have to go for lesser evil.

BSNL is the bigger evil here. Getting random code injected into your browser is essentially malware.

@Rudick airtel has launched recently here, I'll get connection in a couple of weeks they say, so no experience here, but overall I think Airtel has a problem free service at all places. Jio is an old player and people in my locality haven't had a single issue in 10 months or so of installation. So you can go with Jio too. The only problem in Jio is upload speed. I'm using BSNL FTTH, speeds and reliability is good, but the plans are expensive. 100mbps starts at ₹1277+GST. Ad injection is a cheap move by BSNL though, and it's irritating.

Not too keen on Jio. Their plan's aren't any good either from value perspective. Will give another try to Airtel and visit BSNL office on Monday regarding Fiber option. Any word regarding Torrent speeds and performance on the 3 ?

BSNL torrent speeds are normal, however they do block access to torrent websites.

I'm able to access those which I frequent through BSNL. It's the Vodafone and Airtel who block access when I put my phone in USB Tethering mode.

Changing DNS can help. I am using NextDNS with a Pune server and latency is also fine

@Vickey007 These are the "NET Connect" guys I mentioned about in one of my earlier post. They are costly and unreliable. Infact my local computer guy is the one who installs their connections and he himself suggested me to look elsewhere.
