guys i have bsnl home 500c plan and the Nokia seimens c2110 modem.i have XP n 7 in dual boot.
my net works fine on XP but unable to connect on Win 7
now a few days ago whenever i opened firefox i got redirected to a bsnl website saying to upgrade the firmware of my modem.i did so.but after that my net stopped working.then i configured my modem using the bsnl cd that comes with the modem(where it asks phone no.,username n password etc) and my net was up again.but now what had changed was that like before it didnt have to make a new connection to connect instead my net was always on.another change was that earlier POWER,LINK N ETH. lite used to glow but after that power, link n data glow n sumtymes all four.it didnt bother me as far as net was working fine.
then again after a new days when i opened network connection page,it had new icon--pic shown below.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS ICON CAME FROM

now i have to connect through this connection to connect to net in Xp but in 7 there is no such icon.tried making the normal PPPoe connection but that doesnt work either in XP or WIN 7.
NOW HOW DO I GET MY NET CONNECTED IN WINDOWS 7.PLZZZZZ HELP

Open Modem settings page.
Go to tools/ Mangement check for menu item Backup/Save current settings.
Save it to C:/My documents/ C2110 dialer mode OK in XP.

Option 1: try to get PPPoE always on connection with XP.
see this link. NO Firmware upgrade needed for your model
C2110 (Type-A) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION
Try 192.168.1.1/ home.html
http://i31.tinypic.com/14t7m8j.jpg
If successful
Start RUN type cmd Ok
New window
type ipconfig /all
Copy/Paste data here, if needed

Option 2:
Switch over to Windows 7
get ipconfig /all data
probably you have not set up a LAN ..

( I don't have Windows 7. Try in control panel Network settings ) Feedback.

Congrats.
If you are interested try this In XP LAN settings
Start LAN Properties
Network settings
select TCP/IP
properties
IN DNS
enter 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220
Apply Save.
Check ipconfig /all
again.
Without doing "anything" check in Windows7 lan
recheck ipconfig /all

or ignore all above, and continue to enjoy surfing !
