members/partyanimal1989/Welcome to broadbandforum.co.Mention your modem model. You will need two modems for auto change over. Or a modem having dual WAN port. One ISP( say Airtel) will connect to Ethernet port and another ISP ( say BSNL)to USB port.

dude i guess u dint get me............i m sayin dat ....... suppose i m downloading something frm limewire...... i m using bsnl...........but suddenly bsnl server goes down...... i just want it to automatically connect to airtel.................thats iti m sure a vista user would be able to help me............

It will connect.Try to connect both ISP's. get connected Probably BSNL (faster)will work . Remove (BSNL)RJ45 to computer.. Airtel will take over. You will not get combined speed.. Reconnect BSNL connection.
Or wait for a VISTA USER's post.

Loadbalance Internet Connections

as essbebe said you will need a load balancing router.load balancing routers have this ability of automatically switching to other connection if 1 connection fails.be prepared to spend at least 8000 on such router as these routers are mainly meant for business users for whom connection redundancy is must.also very few dealers keep such routers as these are not meant for home users so you have to specifically ask some dealer to get the router for you & also configuring such router is many times more complex than normal router & it is not suggested to configure such router on your own if you haven't configured such routers before.best way is to ask the dealer to configure it for you again assuming that dealer has some experience with such routers.in the end i will just say this it's too much trouble unless you consider yourself some kind of a specialist in networking or know some such person.to give you an idea of the complexity of configuring such routers here is 1 example----you have to specifically configure traffic rules for different protocols like ftp, port 21,incoming/outgoing on connection 1 many such rules may have to be made for smooth functioning.

members/whitestar_999/Since he wants a VISTA user dropped the thread.Already solution is there , by using two modems separately or in tandem !

i just posted to tell him about the difficulties he is going to face if he decided to buy a load balancing router.it doesn't matter which OS he use because the problems i mentioned are independent of the OS.

/members/partyanimal1989/Kindly report where is the external reset access (hole) for this sl2_141 router. It could be at the bottom too. Thanks in advance for the information.Someone forgot the password ! unable to access settings pages.
