Ya Max agreed the router has a MAC, infact all network devices have a MAC. But still the speed is set on ur line, i.e each line is limited to a certain speed.So even if u replace the router u would get the speed alloted to ur line, nothing more or less than that even if u use username and password of someone who has subscribed for high speed connection.So speed is dependent on the line (which has been allotted a speed by the server of the ISP).
