I am impressed with Videocon d2h service and decided to subscribe for the same.My requirement - all tamil channels+sports+english movie channels+these 6 channels - surya,kiran,teja,udaya,u2,udayamovies.Suppose if i subscribe for south diamond pack and if the provider videocon converts some set of channels in the diamond pack as add on package in the middle (say for example hbo, starmovies etc) even before my free period ends, will i continue to get the channels as before or i have to subscribe them as an add on.then how the payment amount will be? kindly clarify. How will be the signal strength during rainy season. any idea. How is the audio quality. If there is a better alternative combination of package choices (base package+addon) from other providers too kindly suggest the same. Thanks for patient reading...!

I've had my Videocon d2h for only a little while now, so I'm not completely sure about the reception during the monsoons, although I guess I'll find out soon enough. My reception quality so far has been really good. The audio is almost DVD-like. I say "almost" because I'm not very sure about technicalities. I'm only sure about what I'm hearing. I think the South Diamond package includes the South Gold package plus additional channels like HBO & Star Movies. I know because that's what my grandparents have in Bangalore. And my grandad loves his movies as much as I do. They pay Rs. 275 a month. I'm not too sure about the other channels but most add-ons come in a set of channels from Rs. 15 - 50, depending on the number of channels in that pack.

I am also not aware of reception during rains, but will soon find it out (hope rains come on time :))I don't think that they will remove any channels from Diamond pack. They will probably create a new pack instead with less no. of channels like they did with sports pack. And also you will get the channels for the time period for which you have subscribed even if they are removed from that pack. For next recharge you will need to have them as add-ons.Sound quality is quite good. :) I have a old TV so don't know how good it sounds with a home theater. Another option for you besides D2H with similar package will be Sun DTH probably, but they have shown already that they remove/add channels at random. So its your decision.

Well I think it will work pretty fine during normal rainy days (no clue about heavy rain). I had no issues with the sound quality so far, so its good. and finally with their most affordable diamond pack which costs you around Rs. 275 videocon d2h is the most affordable dth service.. do share your experience.. tc
