I want to do an experiment. I have D2h & dish tv dish. Dish TV dish is 60 cm size (means powerful lnb) & D2h dish is 72 cm appox. (no powerful lnb). Both receives same strength with different size. Now I will use D2H dish to dish tv & it will get normal strength & I add dish tv's lnb (made for 60 cm dish & I will use it with 72 cm dish) & I will get more better signal strength. May be like D2H HD users.

Dont know how the DTH mechanism exactly works, but i feel it can be risky job! U may end up spoiling both ur connections.

Do 1 thing, when he refuses to agree with 100%, u just show him the page in this thread. Just tell him - all others are getting 100%, even on Standard Boxes.When i recently had that Star Gold HD issue, i showed that guy that not just me, there are others who face the same issue. He had to agree to it out of shame!

Guys..just for crucity i read all post in this thread. Very interesting discussion. I am the person who moved from Dish TV to D2H SD in March. Previous I used Dish TV 7 long years (since when they have only Zee channels adn I bought their STB in Rs 7500/-I am kind of DTH guy and have tried almost all DTH. Frankly saying from overall D2H is satisfactory for me. The most pathetic one was Sun and Airtel. Picture quality in Airtel SD is not appropriate for LCD or LED TV and pixalation is highest. I have not used D2H HD so can't comment on this. Airtel is popular because of know brand image and very high spending on their advertisement, very high commission to dealers. Usually when we start using LCD panel, we start blaming DTH operators. But in most of the cases, we are too knew (gen - X and not Y) to do complete setting in LCD. Please understand the difference of working in CTV and LCD TV. Pixlation issue is every where but in CTV this is not visible but in LCD this appear because high contrast ratio.Better instead of buying multiple set top boxes, identify the issue. When I moved from Dish to D2h, picture quality of D2H was pathetic. Later this improved when I chnaged some setting in TV and also Videocon has improved the picture quality at back end a lot after HD launch.

So we have another testimony mentioning that D2h is after all decent buy!Good that u pointed out about the normal tendency of common man - blaming their DTH after having wide screen TVs. Its absolutely right. The image stretches, so u will feel that the quality is sub-standard.
