Videocon D2H DTH: Clarity Issue

100% you will get reply (from TRAI it may take upto 20+ days), all the TOP LEVEL people will visit your premises to solve the issue, now i am sure your area head is the Ball, hope TRAI will play eat head... TRAI will not close your case without your concent... as i am already experienced...

Yesterday i sent mail for my STAR Channels and other mentioned issues hope the engineer will visit my place in the noon and will update you guys....
 
And as a repercussion of that email, today another engineer Pravin called me up & said that he wud come today. I said i wont be there in the evening. He agreed to send someone even before that time!

But i think theres some issue with my Box. Lots of my recordings got deleted automatically overnight! :O I had so many shows recorded thru'out the week, to be seen today. But today morning when i checked they all vanished! And interestingly, a Movie that was already seen & the recordings of Active Music channel stayed intact!

I m going to point out this issue as well.

After seeing my case, anyone wud say that i shud have complained earlier. But, that can be told at this point in time. But when i lodged my complaint second time, i hadnt xpected that they wud again do the same thing. Normally they do a proper follow-up. But this time was shocking. I thought of giving an xtra chance, hoping that they might rectify previous mistake. But i was wrong!

So this time, when that engineer comes, i m gonna tell him in face - that if i m so much internet savvy, they shudnt take me lightly. If i say that i will go to TRAI, i will go to TRAI! C'mon, i have been suggesting other members around to do that, then y shud i hold back from doing that?
 
So heres the update.......Kiran himself came & also, another senior of his i think, Ravindra had come. They tried to convince me a lot by giving different reasons like:1) First he said all the DTH players are facing the issue. I showed him the TS and few other threads. He kept on persisting that he has set up of all DTH players & he personally checked. 2) Then he said. all this is converted by the channel provider into HD, so there can be an issue. And thats why, not just D2h, all other DTH players also face the issue. So i showed him Colors HD, NGC HD, Discovery HD.......everything else except Star HD channels. He showed me very minute lip-sync issue in it.And here he was trapped. Coz i didnt have such minor issue. I had a major issue.Finally he Swapped my old DVR with a new one. From then, till around 30 mins after that when they left, there were no issues on any channel. But in 5 odd minutes, Star Plus HD misbehaved again. I immediately called them up & they came back. They did a Reset with Format & for the time being it again worked properly.They have told me to observe this till tomorrow or so, and revert back.On the second issue......Dolby audio, he said that u need to have S/PDIF in ur TV or Speakers to get it. Now my TV/Speakers dont have it. So, i need to ask u people.......anyone using HDMI, getting Dolby Audio or not?Next came the deletion of recordings. Now i think this issue shud be solved, if it was specific to the STB. Need to check on it in the coming days.Lastly.....the recording capacity. First he said that "U dont get the exact capacity on Hard Disks". So i showed him the calculations, to show that i knew what calculations are involved. He had no answer! He didnt reply anything on it, as that wasnt a part of my complaint! :D
 
Today the Engineer came, he cheked everything even fast fwd work properly/charmly... but i did all these days it will fwd upto 16x if i do for 32x or 64x it will stuck... i forced to say sorry to him... he left within 1 min... again the problem started... i called him immd. and showed him... he said yes there was a problem... and even after booting (1st time) i am getting delay in changing channels... the Area manager called me and appologize for the problems that fwd. problem is faced by all DVR users so they will release a update in a week or two... so that it will fix and for the booting problem they said they will change my DVR to the new one (SWAP)... in this issue i forget to show him the voice sync problem, anyway they are changing my DVR lets see... i think i will get my DVR after couple of days as Tirupati they dont have any stocks, all as to come from Hyderabad.
 
Which cable do they provide with DVR? I got RCA connection cable. Do you get HDMI cable? Thnks.
 
Congrats, its very profitable deal with D2H DVR for you & thought it on much. did you get HDMI with dvr / did you buy it? thanks

My dvr with old software where D2H logo without HD design logo. Maybe it will upgrade software soon. There are two type of application for audio channels. I can go there through active services & other way is there is a option in menu radio.

Is radio option available with new software too?

Now it is proved it's a DVR Stb problem. Coz my all HD channels are working normally with no audio mismatch. and regarding the dolby audio,i had mentioned previously too that it works fine with a much better sound than the normal audio. that prob too,i think only DVR users are facing.

keep pestering them,unless it is solved. if the recorded content gets erased,then what's the use of DVR??
 
I need to check for other channels but Star Gold HD is surely buggy.
